Mr. Steven R. James

BClinSc BHlthSc(Nat) - NHAA

The Evans River Naturopath (Evans Head, NSW), in complex cases, i.e., corresponding involvement with any other healthcare practitioners, will work alongside primary care GPs as our patients' private, naturopathic and complementary medicines practitioner. In less complex cases, we work directly with patients, according to our clinical naturopathy services and products, in each case's indicated requirements.

The Evans River Naturopath offer a range of care and treatment options in advanced naturopathic medicine.

Our confidential clinic layout also has a small on-site dispensary of prescribed, TGA-listed natural medicines for purchase.

Steve James, The Evans River Naturopath, possesses many, broadly extensive vocational attributes.

Originally a Coach & Motor Bodybuilder tradesman (Vehicle bodymaker), directly after highschool, Steve retrained in clinical sciences, part-time at university, for a decade between 2013 and 2023, and after suffering a life altering series of medical injuries from a catastrophic motorbike crash, while returning home from work, in early-2008.

This physical, mental, and spiritual reconstruction, recovery, and rehabilitation were all enhanced in no small part thanks to applying holistic, and evidence-based, advanced naturopathic medicine, and integrating this wholeheartedly into his lifestyle.

The incredible results are understandably difficult for most people to believe, or even understand, and have continued to astound most doctors involved along the way, especially the dedicated emergency and trauma surgeons and nursing staff involved in the initial stages, and some of the most horrific aspects of his remarkable recovery.

Aside from Steve's lived experience, deeply involved in preparing for reconstructive surgery over the course of the initial 5-10yrs, and seeking, along the way, to personally understand biomedicine more in-depth, Steve's practitioner accreditation in naturopathic medicine includes two bachelor degrees. The first is a bachelor of clinical sciences (SCU), graduating in early-2016 with a double major in complementary medicine and naturopathic studies. the second is a bachelor of health science, majoring in naturopathy (ECNH), and graduating early-2023.

Add to this, after commencing private practice in 2023 as a registered practitioner, Steve began studying for his master degree in advanced naturopathic medicine by research at the National Centre for Naturopathic Medicine (SCU), and is set to graduate, mid-2026.

His research seeks to answer gaps in evidence for Rheumatoid Arthritis  (Specifically, impact injuries, and Repetitive Strain Injury, relating to Nerve and Vasculature in causality), hoping to fill these gaps with new evidence on causality of Rheumatoid Arthritis, and designing effective and beneficial advanced naturopathic medicine treatment protocol/s for this common, debiliating condition.
